NGV, Pharaoh Kids

Enacting as lead graphic designer, in collaboration with the NGV Exhibition Design team, an experiential graphic presence was developed, one that balanced historical storytelling with playful, tactile design. Over a three-month production period, the visual direction was applied across all touch-points, from selecting wall and carpet colours to the strategic placement of decals, title walls and wayfinding.

Working directly with the Curator of Kids, the graphic approach was crafted to support educational mindset, flowing through projections, activity sheets and in-gallery prompts.

Previewing the ancient artefacts informed the palette and cohesive tone of the graphics, which included hand-redrawn hieroglyphs transformed into a floor-to-ceiling animated sequence. The exhibition was underpinned by principles of symmetry, echoing the structural ethos of pyramid architecture.

Audience testing, prototyping and close coordination with print and install suppliers ensured a seamless rollout. The final outcome is a considered and immersive environment that invites children to learn, play and discover the world of Ancient Egypt through layered, responsive design.
