Finding Our Voice

Born out of a need for connection during Covid, Finding Our Voice is a digital-format, nationwide portrait of contemporary Australian art music. It commissioned eight original works and presented them as recorded performances across eight locations, each exploring themes of connection to place and country.

The challenge was to create a brand identity that unified all eight composers under one cohesive system, while still allowing space for their individuality to shine. The identity needed to feel welcoming and accessible to a broad audience, while moving away from the ornate, traditional aesthetics often associated with classical music. The result is 
a modern, inclusive tone that celebrates people, place and sound.

The design solution is grounded in the concept of network, capturing the push and pull between country and urban life, which is a core theme within FOV’s musical works.

The extended, customised ‘V’ subtly symbolises a journey of self-discovery and the growth of community. A restrained, minimal colour palette allows artist imagery and photography to lead, while bold typography provides a clear and confident visual anchor.
